Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › noise (hum) problem while using metal muff pedal
Hi, everyone,
When I try to use the metal muff pedal, there is a loud hum that happens. The only pedal I am using is the metal muff. I am using an ac/dc adapter to power the pedal. Will switching to 9v battery solve my problem? I have also tried switching out input/output cables and the problems still happens. Any ideas? Thanks !!
If you’re using single coil pickups, there will always be some hum. I know from my own experience that you need a really good power supply for most EH pedals. I got a cheap power supply with my Holy Stain when it came from Guitar Center and it sounded like crap (I didn’t order it, they just sent it). I thought something was wrong with the pedal! The clean setting made more noise than the fuzz or distortion and the reverb sounded like hell! I then got a good power supply out and it fixed everything. No more hum and noise. This is just my experience. It might not be yours, but I do hope it helps.
