The 8 Step has a TRS on the CV output – looks like a BJ124.
Tip carries CV. Sleeve carries ground. What does the Ring carry? My voltmeter doesn’t register anything there.
I connected the Gate Out to the Ring, and split the output jack to have CV at Tip and Trigger out at Ring, grounding to Sleeve. (I’m doing all this with probes and clips; no soldering until I figure it out.)
Unfortunately, this didn’t give me separate CV and Gate out. Instead, the CV has a spike at the front end – as though the signals are summed.
Is that output balanced? I wouldn’t think so, but…??? What am I missing?
