    Hi there,

this is my first posting and I hope someone can help me.
I am the owner of an older Poly Chorus with external power supply
and since a few weeks I also got a vintage Echoflanger. As far as I can tell,
it’s got a pcb like this:

Since I’ve heard both pedals are built on the same circuit, I was wondering
why I can get the Poly Chorus into self-oscillation by twisting the feedback knob
but not the Echoflanger. It also misses quite a bit of treble in active and bypass mode.
Is it broken or is it just normal that the old pedals cant get into self oscillation?

If anyone can tell me anything about it, I would be really thankful.

    Best,

    Timm.

By ” older Poly Chorus with external power supply” do you mean a Stereo Polychorus reissue in the big box?
If so, the circuits are not the same. The Echoflanger also isn’t true-bypass.

    Hey Ron,

Yes it’s a Bigbox Stereo Reissue.

The circuits are completely different, especially in the delay chips used as the originals were no longer available. The Echoflanger can be adjusted for self-oscillation by adjusting the feedback trim.

    Thanks for the info!

    Should I try to twist the trimpot, when I’m a non-technician ?
Right now, the Echoflanger is in repair/check-up,
so I think it would be better if I ask the technician about it ???

He repaired an 80’s Stereo-Memory Man for me, that had
similiar treble-loss issues. And I hope he can fix the problems.

Maybe you can tell me, where the feedback-trimpot is located?

    Best,

    Timm.

    Alright.

Would it be okay, to contact you, if there are any questions/issues?

    Thanks for your time,

    Timm.
