Hi all,
Picked up a 2880 a week or so ago and this is my first post here. Hopefully someone can shed some light on my problem. From the 2880 User Manual:
Quote:The 2880 will also respond to Song Position Pointer (SPP). You can advance your sequencer or drum machine to any measure you like, and the 2880 whether idle or playing a loop, will jump to the measure specified by the MIDI master. However, when I send SPP while my 2880 is playing, it doesn’t respond — in other words, it just keeps playing the loop without changing position. I have Ext. Clock on. It responds to SPP if I first stop playback, send SPP, then start playback.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there some setting I’ve missed? Would REALLY love to be able to change SPP while loop is playing.
Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!

I think there a defaults on some 2880.
Nobody answer to me so good luck!October 23, 2013 at 2:04 pm #119431marclr17MemberI don’t think there are midi problems on some 2880.
I rather think the devices you use does not send properly the midi messages the 2880 need to sync.
To be sure, you can try with other midi device sync with the 2880, like a MPC Akai. If it works with the MPC, the problem does not come from the 2800…
I use a workstation in midi sync with my 2880, and it works very well : tempo changing, midi position pointer… It’s a cool feature. But midi is not very easy, and sometimes some hardware does not send all midi sync messages by default.
Trying to sync your 2880 with another hardware, like a SP BOSS will show you if you’re 2880 is properly working or not.(Neurone, are you French ?)
Best Regards,
Marc – France

Tu as posté sur le forum d’Audiofanzine ? J’y anime une section assez technique sur la 2880.Marc
