Hi, I’m new to the forum, thought I’d try here for advice before buying my first EHX pedal.
I was wondering if it’s possible to use the Knockout pedal to give a HUGE treble & bass boost, with out loosing the instrument’s signature sound?
Any advice?
an instruments signature sound kinda means no drastic filtering. What sound are you going for?
I’ve got a Fender American series strat with recently fitted, Fender custom shop ’69 single coils. I want to keep the strat sound, but with a huge bass and treble boost. Not a volume boost, not a gain boost, but a bass and treble boost.
When put through an overdrive or distortion pedal this type of eq setting gives huge punch to the tone. And when a wah is put into the equation, you get really exaggerated highs and lows!
Do you see where I’m coming from dude?
The other possibility I thought of was to have a Mole and a Screaming Bird side by side, connected with a double ended jack. That way they could be clicked on simultaneously. This would also retain the guitar’s original sound!
Any thoughts mate?
You should probs go for a gain boost (LPB-2ube or similar) and a mid cut/notch/scoop (not sure who even makes simple parametric eqs nowadays. Probs alesis or something); it’ll sound better. The knockout is a more subtle pedal.
