Home › Forums › Vintage EHX › Old Clone Theory power adapter?
Hi,
I have an old Clone Theory pedal (late ’70s) that needs a new power adapter. I’ve never had the original adapter for it and the one it came with broke and is not possible to repair.
I know it should be a 24V 100mA adapter, but is it AC or DC? Does Electro-Harmonix make these adapters anymore?
Thanks in advance,
– Tuomas
It’s DC. They still sell adapters that will work. For the US version, you’ll need a US24DC-100.
So it’s DC even if the pedal has a sticker on it that says “USE 24VAC 100MA only”?
The reason I’m asking this is because I’ve heard a few people saying that it’s DC, but the sticker on the pedal is telling me to use AC.
Also the original adapter had a 3,5mm plug connector. The new ones have the standard DC connector that fits pretty much every pedal on the market.

If it says AC, then use AC.
They did make some units that take 24vAC. I had a Stereo Memory Man that needed that adapter. Like you said the 3.5mm plug type. Analog Man has them on his site but they are not cheap.
