Home › Forums › Vintage EHX › Looking for the date of my Vintage LPB-1. Has original box and paperwork
trying to find the date of this unused lpb1. I have a vintage silver lpb1. It has original white box with blue writing on it as well as orange paperwork saying “BOOSTERS. Congratulation, you have purchased the finest boosters ever developed……”
it has 1 “input” and 1 “amp”. one switch only OFF or BOOST. It is silver in color, words are in blue except LPB are in white. Got it from a man in a guitar trade who was original owner and never used it, (hence it still being in box with paperwork) it has either a light rubber, or tolex on 2 sides and is silver on 2 sides. there are no markings of any wear or serial numbers. the unit and box say “made in NYC USA” and the orange paperwork has a picture of a face with curly hair on bottom and beside it says “electro-harmonix 27 west 23rd street new york n.y. 10010 (212) 741 1770” the paper is old and mint shape, no recycled fibres in the paper. Any idea of a date? I researched it and had a shop look at it, however they were unsure as it appeared earlier than the late 70’s as there are no black screws or black faceplate. I attached a photo
thanks for any help
The best way to date it is to look at the back of the pot. There’s a number that starts with 137. The next 2 are the year and last 2 are the week the pot was made. That’ll give you a rough idea.
thanks! unfortunately that is where the soder is I see the 137, but then it’s sodered.
That’s the only way to accurately date it. Anything else is a generalization. It’s likely late 70s/early 80s.
thanks! much appreciated
