Hi everyone. I’m having a lot of trouble getting a Vintage Deluxe Electric Mistress working. The values and layout match this circuit:
http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=123&Itemid=26
The basic circuit seems to work – I am getting some effect. The problem is that there is a massive volume drop when the effect is on, and lots of clock/sweep noise (I fiddled with the trim pots, but I haven’t attempted the proper calibration routine yet, since I wanted to fix the volume issue first – and I really don’t think it is related to the trim pot settings in this case). I know my SAD1024 works OK because I dropped it in my Ross flanger and it worked fine in that circuit. I have tested every pot value with a meter, re-soldered everything. Socketed the op amps and tried replacements, recapped all the electrolytics. Re-did all of the wiring, and tested the transistors (and tried new ones anyways), but it still sounds exactly the same!!!!! I did try to trace the circuit, but it just wasn’t working for me on this one… and thus the try it and see approach.
Here are my voltages (I tried comparing with other posted voltages on this site but mine seemed very different…). Maybe something will jump out as an obvious issue to someone… I hope. At wits end here… please help!!
