Pretty much what the title says – I’m looking at buying a Chillswitch, but it would only be useful if I can add a jack for a remote footswitch.
How straightforward would this be? Is the pedal’s footswitch just an ordinary SPST that I could splice the remote jack onto, or is there more at work?
Cheers.
Bumping with a bit more info, on the off-chance that it helps.
– I went ahead and bought a Chillswitch, opened it up, and the footswitch is a single-pole like I was hoping. However, it’s normally closed – that is, the two sides of the switch are connected *unless* you step on it, at which point they’re broken.
– The footswitch I picked up for this project is normally open.
Everything should work fine if I go ahead with the mod, and the difference in the footswitch would just mean setting the Chillswitch the other way, but I’m curious as to whether there are any problems I might run into as a result of changing the switching setup – things burning out, that sort of thing.
Any guesses?
