Home › Forums › Vintage EHX › Micro Synth Corded AC?
Hi all, did a search but could not find an answer. Are all corded micro synths from the late 70’s to 80’s era, or did they still have them in the 90’s? When was the switch to ac adapter?
I’m looking for an early 80’s micro synth, saw some on fleabay that were corded but had the input on the left side instead of right, so wasn’t sure what era it’s from.
I have a late 90’s version and compared to a youtube video of the 1st edition it does sound different to me.
Thanks
If it’s a 2-prong plug then it’s a vintage unit. Early reissues have a 3-prong plug. A couple of years after they were introduced they went to the adapter.
There are some vintage units with the jacks on the left.
Thanks for the info, that is very helpful. These vintage micro synths don’t come up too often for sale.
I have a Micro Synth I bought in about 1980 with a 2 prong plug and the jacks on the left. I just replaced 4 broken slide pots and converted it to a bass Micro Synth. A bit scratched up, but works great.
