    I bought a Soul Preacher compressor on ebay, tried it out today, and the only way it generates any sound is to have the volume all the up, which still doesnt even match the guitars sound without the pedal. I have tried a new battery, and my 9v adapter, same outcome.
    Every review/video I watch shows people using the Soul Preacher at 50% volume or less.
    Am I doing something wrong?

    No. It sounds like there’s a problem with it. I’d return it for exchange.

    Did you try to change the setting of the internal trimpot ?
