    Hi,

A friend brought me a ’77 memory man to fix that he bought at a garage sale (not working). It looks just like this one:

    https://www.ehx.com/assets/reviews/flashback-memory-man.jpg

It’s the black screen print and the unit reads:
‘Solid State Echo / Analog Delay Line’

The circuit board is labeled ‘EH 1309A’.

It has had some mods done it (poorly). It only puts out white noise in delay mode.

I am hoping someone can point me to a

1.) Schematic for the 1309A circuit
2.) Layout (would be amazing) – or an internal photo from one of the 1309A series
3.) Calibration procedure for the trimmers on the inside of the unit.

I want to bring it back to stock to begin and then hopefully debug it back to a working state.

    Thanks!
    Mike

“Mods” are likely original to the unit. Early EH stuff often had parts soldered to the back of the board and even traces cut/rewired.

I would highly advise taking the unit to a tech for repair.

    I am the tech :-)

Some parts are soldered on the back and look original and the parts are of the correct vintage. Others have exposed leads and are wrapped in electrical tape and look too sloppy to come from a manufacturer – but then again ive been surprised before.

I don’t have experience with this old of an EH unit. Its the first one I’ve come across in my travels.

I can supply any info needed and any tips on what to look for much appreciated. My next step is to begin tracing the signal with a scope and see where the distress begins.

1st: check the power supply voltages.
2nd is the signal getting to the delay IC
3rd is the signal leaving the delay IC
