    Hi

I have a couple of questions regarding the 2880, I currently own a korg Kpro that i bought for looping and to sync as a slave with my MPC but the external sync turned out to be an illusion on the korg so i have been looking into the 2880, so my question is does the 2880 sync perfectly with an external sequencer? will i expirence lose of timing on the long run while performing? another quick question, is it possibile to erase track/loop on the fly without stopping the performance? Thank you

it’s tight if you are. I mean, the quantizing works wonders with my electribes, just press the button before the 16 beats of a measure are up, otherwise it’ll add 16 more before going back to the loop start point.

as far as erasure on the fly, it works; just go to the track you want to erase/record over, move the slider to 0 and have record going.

thanks a lot mate! sounds goos!

so if u want to record on the fly you have just to press record before the end of a 16th beat and the 2880 will start the 1 beat of the next sequence? right?
and how to set lenght of the record? you have to just press stop before the end of a 16th beat and the 2880 will swith to play at the next beat?
    sorry for stupid question

no, best bet for this would be start with the faders down, record lit but not running, ext clock and quantize on – then when you start your beat, the 2880 will start recording nothing – determine how long you want your loop to be (read: wait), then press “play” so it keeps going (and keeps playing nothing). You can then move the faders up and punch in and out with the ‘record’ button.

    Hey

Appreaciate your time man, just one last question regarding the loop lenght, as i am understand you need to give the outpoint manually? so if i would be using the 2880 as a slave with an MPC will the 2880 correct the lenght of the loop according to the timing it’s recieving from the MPC? example on the Kaossilator pro i can choose for instance 16 beats and then hit record whenever i like, how is this possibile on the 2880???

    Thanks Alot

yeah this is the quantize function

this …. there’s less maths input into the 2880 and more “this machine will copy what you tell it, so speak carefully”
