hey. after a stop on ebay, I discovered all kinds of vintage ehx goodness. I’ve settled on entering the bidding for a blue DMM, deluxe big muff, clone theory, micro synth, and octave multiplexer. but know i just cant decide on a flanger. its either gonna be a vintage deluxe electric mistress or a vintage mxr 117 flanger. they’re both on buy it know, so i don’t need to worry about bidding. the mxr has 6 days left, and the DEL has 28. lemmy know what you think. I’m looking for an 80% smooth, 20% choppy flanger. i don’t like them to be super silky smooth but i also hate an out of control chopper. I want it to be vary solid sounding flanger, very strong. I’ll put a poll up for what you guys think. use your own opinions or what you think based on what i said. Oh, and pedalboard space is not an object. thanks!
I’m not understanding your description of smooth and choppy. I usually apply those adjectives to the tremolo effect.
I’ve never used the MXR so I can’t compare. But I love the DEM. It is a classic and instantly recognizable effect.
thanks. i decided on the electric mistress. i found an N.O.S. standard one from the ’70s on ebay with 9 days left. but whew! what a day! just scored a reissue black finger for $116 and and an english muff’n for $80! can’t wait for them to come in!
