Something strange is going on with my Micro POG and I’m wondering if someone can help me sort it out. I originally bought the Micro Pog to create ‘faux’ bass sounds for my solo act. I use a Boss Loop Station and on a few tunes I like to loop a little bass line with my acoustic guitar. I researched octave pedals for a while before I bought the MicroPOG and I love what it does. The problem I’m having is that something is causing the Micro POG to affect more than my guitar… like the microphone I’m singing through and the pre recorded loops from my boss looper. I’m guessing it’s a power issue, but I want to make sure before I go out and purchase something new. The signal path is as follows:
Acoustic guitar into a Fishman Spectrum DI… the signal is fed out of the Fishman’s effects loop into the Micro POG then into the Loop Station. Those three pedals are mounted on a board and daisy chained– powered by a Visual Sound 1 Spot. That entire signal is sent out of the Fishman Spectrum DI (via XLR) into my powered mixer. Only other thing connected to the mixer is a microphone for vocals.
I figure the problem is with the 1Spot, but I want to make sure. Also, I can’t find the original power supply for the Micro POG (doh!) Should I purchase a new EHX power supply and plug everything in separately? Is there any other power supply out there besides the stock one that is known to work? I like the convenience of plugging in one adapter.
Any help would be appreciated. I LOVE the micro pog, but it sounds really weird on my voice!
try moving the micropog to its own power supply and see if it clears up. maybe mount a power strip on your pedal board if you want to keep everything on one supply.
