When using the Octave bend Exp. mode with a M-Audio expression pedal I’m not getting the full Octave, it’s as half-step shy. The expression pedal works fine in all the other modes, & the trim knob is cranked on it. As far as I can tell it’s only the Octave bend mode that doesn’t work properly, I’m suspecting that the Hog itself is defective. This is the second time I’ve had a problem with this unit, first time it was a power supply issue, now this, please help!!!

Sounds more like it’s the expression pedal.

Try the switch under the m-audio expression pedal.

I’ve tried that, I switched it from other to M-Audio n got nothing. I’ve also tried it out on all the other expression modes & it seems to work fine. It’s only in the Octave bend mode I’ve been having this problem.

I have the exact same problem ( I think) when the expression pedal is NOT plugged in, the pitch of the dry signal matches the pitch of the “Original” signal (which it should). When you plug in the expression pedal, it raises the pitch of the Original signal, and it cannot be lowered by rocking the pedal. The switch underneath doesn’t do anything to improve it.

I found out what the problem was, it turns out it was just my M-audio Ex-p. I tried out this one yahmaha expression pedal and it works fine. So relieved it wasn’t a problem with the hog.

Sometimes on wah & expression pedals, the mechanism that moves the potentiometer can get misaligned, in which case you have to physically fix them.

Thanks for a quick response. Over the weekend, I’ll see if I can adjust the pedal, and post the results.

OKAY – Now I feel STUPID! I was dreading the thought of opening the pedal since I just got it, and it wasn’t working right. Then I just discovered that there is a tuning knob on the left side of it. PLugged it in, turned the knob, everything’s working the way it should, and I’M HAVING A BLAST!!!

It’s good to be here. :)

Yeah, there’s that too. I didn’t mention that because the OP said that they made sure the trim knob was cranked
