I just got my Humbugger and it sure is quiet! Once you hit the switch, nothing gets to the amp, not even the guitar. I ran it alone guitar wire to box, wire to amp and nothing. I don’t think that’s how it’s supposed to work.
Is this one defective?
Did you use the AC adapter with it? It’ll only work with the specified AC adapter.
Yes, Ron, I am not a complete idiot. I used the AC adapter, and even plugged it into the wall outlet. The light came on when I switched it on, but no signal at all to the amp. This unit is defective and is already on it’s way back to Guitar Center.com. This was the very first thing I ever bought from EH. It doesn’t bode well for me to buy anything else from EH in the future.
No reason to get upset. It happens sometimes that people will forget to check the battery or use the wrong adapter.
It does sound like there’s a problem with it but it happens to every manufacturer. Things get past the QC. If you don’t want to buy more EHX, that’s entirely up to you.
Not upset – I just wonder why you are not more upset about a non functioning unit reaching the consumer?
I run a company too, and when we screw up, we do a lot more to keep our customers than say “It’s up to you.” If anyone in my employ told a customer that, they’d be out of a job.
EH Man does NOT work for EHX. Most of us here on the forum don’t. Anyone who is officially with EHX will have “EHX staff” written after their name.
