I am looking at maybe purchasing a 2880. the question i have is (if i can explain it) when you are doing the mixdown, it is only looping basically one cycle of the loop(s), right? instead of recording multiple cycles of it. hope this makes sense.
mine doesn’t shut off after one cycle. not sure if that’s just mine or not.
I guess if you really enjoy digital clipping [or are good at leveling on the fly], the mixdown feature is useful. But, like the metronome, I don’t use it.
so you could basically record say 5 mins of a 10 sec loop, and use the faders throughout the mix down?
yeah but it doesn’t move the loop points. so when it’s all said and done, it’ll still be your ten second loop, just super saturated/distorted by digital clipping. might be interesting for almost a digital william basinski type thing but usable in context of routinely listenable music? doubt it.
