On my Memory Boy Deluxe, when I use the TAP SWITCH (with or without the tap divide engaged) the switch only registers every other tap. For example, if I tap 4 beats in, instead of counting those as the 1/4 notes, it only seems to register beat 1 & 3, and sets the tempo there. So, if I want to get the right beat, I need to tap on the 1/8 notes, which can be REALLY hard with fast tunes. It seems that the switch on the unit only fully “clicks” down on every other push.
This isn’t an occasional occurrence. This is consistent, reliable, and exact. Every other tap depression on the switch is counted as a beat.
Am I doing something wrong? It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with how hard I’m pushing on the pedal. It simply only counts 1 & 3 out of 1-2-3-4.
(Potentially useful info: I don’t have an expression pedal plugged in, I am not using the send/return, and I am using the factory 9V adapter.)
Help?

have you checked your quantization [tap divide] button? try it with it on sixteenth notes [far right LED].
Thanks, but it doesn’t matter what tap divide setting (or if it is off). It registers every other tap of the switch, and that’s all.
Looks like I need to return it for one with a switch that works!
