I have a big box Deluxe Mistress and because of it’s size and power supply it doesn’t see a lot of use even though it’s my favourite flanger. I love it specifically for the faster sounds you can get, the sort of chirpy sound you get on a lot of Smashing Pumpkins records.

Can anyone tell me anything about the Neo Mistress? There were no demos of it at Namm. I had a Streo Mistress before and am worried it’ll have the same digital sound. I use plenty of digital effects(I have an M9) but I got bored of that pedal after a while and I couldn’t believe how much more interactive it was. At the same time I do miss the “fwubbier” sound the Stereo did, so I wouldn’t mind the sound was more in that direction. But I don’t think I’ll trust it if it’s digital.

The same goes for the Neo Clone – analogue or Digital? I had a big box Small Clone but sold it as I mostly couldn’t get the tones I wanted. I found it got too “sea sick” at high settings and couldn’t do that synthy 80s goth rock kinda Chorus. A mid position on the knob or some way to change the delay time might have helped. Does the Neo Clone have some kind of internal Trim to adjust delay time like the Mistress?
