I’d like to directly connect the EHX Voice Box after the V256.
Right now my chain is dynamic mic->V256 XLR Input->(“Lo”preamp)->XLR Output->Voice Box XLR input->Voice Box XLR Output->Mixer XLR input.
The XLR output impedance from the V256 is 700 ohms. Into the Voice Box xlr input voice box: 10KOhms.
Am I fine using a XLR cable to interface these two units or do I need some sort of impedance matching box? It’s kinda weird cause I have a gain stage at each box so the signal might be a little hot headed into the second preamp (which is even before the mixer’s gain)?
I have thought about this as well.. But I don’t own the V256 (yet). I think you’re right about the two gain stages. My Voicebox is pretty hit going into mixer (or my soundcard). Try putting a DI (with pad) in between the two. You’ll need some XLR to 1/4″ TRS adaptors, but it may do the trick.
Let us know how you make out. I plan to get a V256 soon.
