Home › Forums › Vintage EHX › Electric Mistress Volume fix mod
Hi,
I am looking for someone that can perform the volume drop fix/mod on a vintage green mistress.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advanced.
Mike
What’s your location?
I suggest you don’t have the common ‘fix’ but instead opt to have an output boost added internally to compensate the drop, the mod affects the mix which will weaken the flange.
I live in Denver but can mail the pedal anywhere.
Thanks
Mike
Well I can do it but i’m in the UK, for logistics sake I suggest you seek out The EH Man on the forum, he should be able to take care of it.
Send it to Howard Davis, he designed the Deluxe EM and is in New York.

I have been there…there’s a youtube video showing how but it only works on certain versions of the original and howard will tell you that it cant really be solved completely. fxdoctor said a boost somewhere internally is the only way, of course that will make it noisy-er(squeak squeak)ive had 2 of them and best solution was to get an older original deluxe model that doesn’t drop out.
Why don’t you just put it in a loop and add a cheap $20 boost pedal after it, so when you turn on the loop both the boost and Mistress will go on and off at once. It will also help preserve the switch on the mistress as well.
This way you don’t have to perform any mods which would lower the value of a vintage pedal, and it would probably cost about the same amount. If you ever decide to sell the Mistress you could either keep or sell the boost pedal too.
