    i know that this isn’t necessarily what this pedal was built for but i’m curious about using it as my main preamp/OD (after my fuzzes/distortions, but before my delay/reverb/power amp), where i can dial in a range from doomy tube saturated OD sounds to articulate cleans when i want them. i’m

    open to suggestions on swapping one or both tubes (and for which kind/brand), using separate channels on the pedal or ganging etc, or any other ideas. .

    or can anyone relay any experiences at all that they’ve hAd with tube swaps w/ the LPB-2UBE, whether it be just a different brand/type of 12AX7/ECC83 tube, or a lower gain tube type such as a 5751, 12AT7, OR 12AY7?

    I think you should try ganging before you try tube-swapping (heck it’s free!), just plug your guitar into the R channel, connect the R-output to the L-input, and L-output to the amp. Then, you can crank the R-channel and drop the L-volume to taste. Be careful, you can end up sending more signal than your amp can handle, so start with L-volume pretty low. This way, the L-volume acts like a master volume on a tube amp.

    I’d be curious to see what tube-swapping can do, i’ve meant to do it, but never gotten around to it. Since it already had AX7-s in it, that’s as dirty as it’s going to sound, unless someone can recommend a different type of AX7, I don’t think tube swapping will do what you want (but it may do other cool things!).

    i’ve been using it in ganged mode w/ the stock tubes, which works better than using a single channel, but just wondering if anyone’s swapped any tubes to good effect whether it be clean and chimey or heavy and overdriven…
