    Hi,

I have was given a Bad Stone from a friend because it was not working well.

It contains 2 9v batteries & appears to have 5850 on the pcb.

It makes a clicking sound when activated.

    Questions:

Is there a place (in Canada) that could service the unit?

My amp guy said that he could not find the schematics and could not work on the unit.

Is it possible to have it modified to accept an AC adaptor?

    Thank you

    Bill

I had that problem once with a vintage Mistress. Replacing the first op amp in the circuit fixed the problem. Not that you asked, but that’s all I got :)

Please find below 2 images of the Pedal

I was able to re-solder new 9v wires to where I believe the old ones were located.
The good news is that there is a phase effect when activated.

The bad news is the clicking sound increases when the pot is turned.

The inside image was taken before I re-soldered the unit.

If there is a phase effect, then I would guess the power leads were placed properly…is that a correct assumption?

If I was wrong…..should anyone be able to point out where the 9v leads should be attached, I would be grateful

Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

We can tackle my 1976 Bass Hoggs Foot next

    : ^ )

    Many thanks

    Bill

I know this is an old thread but if you are still out there Bill, I was wondering if you still have this pedal and if you can tell me the value of the green cap on the solder side of the board and where its going to? I have one of these and recently got around to trouble shooting it and found a broken lead right where that cap is below the two flying resistors. Anyways figured its worth a shot to ask. Thanks
