    Hi All,

I have never replaced tubes in my Black Finger (or any other EHX tube pedal). How does one proceed? Pull, twist?

    Any advice is welcomed

    Thanks

Just pull the old tube out of the socket. You’ll see there’s a gap in the pins on the tube socket. You’ll just need to realign the new tube with this gap when putting it in.

I just threw a new set of EHX 12ax7’s in my Black Finger, it was starting to sound grungy on higher compression settings, sounds fantastic now!

hmm…I probably have the same problem with mine…everytime I set it on high compression, there’s a slight hiss…how are you routing your signal? Can you list your effects chain, please.

The Double Muff essentially demands to be first in the signal chain, sounds bad with the compressor in front, I think Trey Anastasio , of the band Phish uses compression after distortion….

souljah671, the fix might be as simple as tightening the screw between the tubes. You’ll have to take the metal cover off, but nothing more than a screwdriver is required.

I did this to my LPB-2ube and it really cleaned up.
