    Hi,
I recently ordered myself a Germanium 4 Big Muff and found that whenever I use the distortion side I get quite nasty squealing feedback whenever I’m not playing (which is exacerbated by turning the gain knob up). I quite like high-gain distortion, so this is a bit of a problem for me. I’ve tried using different leads with the pedal and still get the same problem, and I was using my VOX vt30 amplifier. Has anyone else had this same problem? Have I simply been given a defective pedal that needs returning?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jacob.

Forgot to point out something else that could be potentially important – The guitar I’m using is a Jazzmaster copy, and ergo, I’m using single coil pickups… Would that have anything to do with it? Would I get a less noisy signal if I was using humbuckers?

I’m using the GE4BM with my tele and I don’t have any issues with squealing or any excessive noise (that is unless I max the distortion on both sides :metal: ).

What you can do is try running it without any other pedals in chain and see if the issue remains.
If so then just send it back and have them send you another one.
