I wish I knew someone who owned a micro pog, or lived near a music store that had one in stock so i could compare, but i don’t know what a properly functioning micro-pog is supposed to sound like.

I bought one used a few months ago. It malfunctioned from the get-go and i sent it away to EHX for repair. When it came back the effect worked but there was a loud hiss when the effect was engaged.

I sent it back and asked them to take a look at it, sure that this was a glitch that manifested during the repair, kind of like a surgeon forgetting a scalpel inside someone’s chest.

The repair dept. contacted me and said they didn’t find the pedal hissy at all. At least no louder than the others being produced.

I told them I brought the unit to a music store and had the guys look at it there. they thought it was definitely irregular.

Shortly thereafter, EHX or New Sensor, replied that they indeed had found the hiss that i was referring to, and they were going to send me a new pedal ASAP.

I considered this extremely gracious of them, considering i was merely looking to have my used, non-warrantied pedal repaired.

When I received the pedal the other day, i plugged it in and it’s making the same loud hiss.
I don’t understand. New box, new adaptor and warranty card, and new pedal, but it sounds so…hissy.
I am just confused, thinking that this sound could not possibly be proper functioning. Although i have no comparison, so how can i be sure.

    Can anyone assuage my frustration?
EHX has been helpful, but i just don’t get it. All the video demos on Youtube sound crystal clear.

    Thanks Anyone

have you tried a ground lift between the micropog and your amp?
have you tried with the wall wart plugged into a power conditioner?

it could be it doesn’t like working with your equipment [ground lift] or your electrics [power conditioner].

The repair department says that the hiss is a normal function of the pedal.
and all the online demos i’ve watched don’t sound hissy because the microphones dont
have the ability to pick up the high frequency of the hiss.

How can i play quiet passages, or record with this pedal when i have to deal with this consistent hiss?

What about a noise supressor or something like the rocktron hush?

    thanks

i am having a horrible hiss with my germanium 4 which i just received today. it is only the OD side (not the Distortion) and i cannot fix the problem with my Rocktron Guitar Gate/Hush. i sent email to EHX. await response.
