Hi, I have a quick question about the Holier Grail. I just picked one up for very cheap but it didn’t come with the power supply. The instructions state the adapter uses 18vdc 500ma. I have a reverse double ended 18/24v adapter for my PP2, but nothing is working. Does anyone know if the PP2+ is capable of powering this pedal? Or should I just order the ehx adapter from analogman?
The PP2+ is only capable of supplying 250ma on the high current outputs. You’ll have to use the original adapter or a higher current supplying power source.
Not ripping on you or anything but really, you should be able to look up the specs of your own equipment. I found that info on Voodoo Lab’s site in less than 30 secs.

Yeah I found the specs, but I thought it could ‘double’ the 250ma to 500ma if I used 2 outputs together. I just wanted confirmation from you guys before I shell out $20 for an adapter . Anyway, thanks for the quick response.

You might be able to do that. I don’t know how much actual current the Holier Grail draws, but it might be too close to 500mA for comfort.
So I ordered a 18V DC 500ma EHX adapter off ebay and got it in the mail today. I plugged everything in…and no lights are coming on, no signal, nothing. I opened the back of the pedal and everything seems normal, but I’m horrible with diagnosing problems.
What could I do to remedy the problem without sending it in for repair? I guess the price I paid ($20) was too good to be true
I opened up the pedal but I don’t see any cracked resistors or burned out parts. Can anyone direct me which parts are common problems with this pedal? Thanks,
I can’t see anything wrong in the pics. You should take it to a tech for repair. Even if it costs you $50 to fix it that’s still a lot less than the pedal cost new.
