I recently bought a Holy Stain pedal second hand, with a replacement (not Ehx) power supply included. I got home and saw it seemed to be the same as my Boss power supply. I plugged in the pedal with my regular power supply, everything was fine except the Clean setting was almost completely silent. The fuzz and drive settings were fine, and the reverb and tremolo were fine also.
So after a while I tried it with the power supply I got with it, now this time when I plugged it in, the Clean channel was noticeably louder and had a bit more bite to it.
However it is still not as loud as with the pedal turned off, so even with the volume up full, as soon as I turn on the pedal there is a noticeable drop in volume.
I was wondering has anyone had similar problems with the Holy Stain? If so how did you solve it? Will I need to buy and EHX power supply or what is the difference, they have the right current and voltage ratings, and are both positive barrel?
I appreciate any help, I’m after forking out a fair bit for this pedal and so far this volume drop means its a bit of a disappointment.
