I’m planning on picking up an older big box Holy Grail and I’m wondering if I can use this with a regular one-spot or do I need a special power supply? Thanks very much.

yep. or if you have a powerbrick type PS (a la the voodoo labs power supply), it’ll probably help eliminate some of that.
