Hi I just bought a Black Finger pedal to use with my mic pre for vocals. Whenever I switch the Black Finger on, I can hear a loud hum and I can’t get rid of it no matter what cables or soundcards I use. The hum is there even when the volume is down. The compression sounds pretty nice if you ignore the hum, I was using Lamp + Norm mode.
hmm…im not a pro or anything but have you tried any trouble shooting, like swap out different tubes, or placement of the unit in the signal chain? or maybe try hooking the unit up to other equipment all together like an instrument and a amp instead of your PC? to see if its a faulty unit your working with, or maybe the unit just doesn’t like working the way your trying to use it?
