THE FINAL BOOSTER
wouldn’t it be great to have ONE BOOSTER TO RULE THEM ALL?!?
like a LPB-EQ thing.
let me explain: sometimes i need an overall boost, sometimes just a treble or a bass booster and there are times you’d only need a signal pad attenuation.
now what about putting at least the three boosters in one pedal with the possibility to switch either:
bass boost – linear boost – treble boost – and maybe a “boost off” switch for attenuation.that in a small enclosure would be amazing and would give us more space for other EHX-Pedals!
diego
btw: still hoping for a stereo tremopan and a stereo polyflange(hoax)!
April 20, 2010 at 12:22 pm #96379The EH ManModeratorAll you have to do is change a couple of caps in an LPB-1 to convert it to bass or treble boost. Putting them on a switch wouldn’t be difficult.
April 20, 2010 at 3:00 pm #96372DarkAxelParticipantwell, yeah, it’s not really hard to do, but hey now – the beloved EHX recently released the Signal Pad… and that’S just a volume pot with a switch
diagoarts’ idea at least is a bit creative
April 20, 2010 at 5:26 pm #95668Mr.GrimMemberas eh-man sed it is simple to build or mod a booster into what you mentioned, i myself have made a lpb clone with a switch to go into all three boosters (never thought of a 4way to make it an volume attenuator)
speaking of it, here is my version of a volume attenuator:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150434832044&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:ITi always try to include sumt hing a little extra in the units i make, check out the other ones i have too, im not trying to advertise, just sharing ideas and proud of my own.

great pedals you make there and good looking too!
the optical control and the stutter are plain great!
sadly i’m in germany and therefor shipping and VAT often stop me from buying gear in the US (which is sad, because you got so many great small FX companies!).
anyway – it might be easy to implement treble and bass boosting in let’s say the lpb1, but i’m not an electrician and can only do minor changes to my pedals (i won’t touch the pcb if not necessary).
but if there would be an easy mod on that one – i’d go for it. the lpb1 isn’t that expensive and therefor worth a try…
but otherwise i’d think it would be a good selling pedal for EHX!
cheers

April 21, 2010 at 10:23 pm #92246BlueSteelParticipanti’m liking this pedal idea very much. but would each booster have a seperate switch, or would there be like a knob to select which booster will be used?
April 21, 2010 at 11:34 pm #91931Mr.GrimMemberether way could be done.
traditionally in the past it had been done with a toggle switch to change the components inside to be used as ether of the 3 boosters ,its really just swapping out one or two components, to make it one of the other boosters, so putting them all into the unit and switching to the right one. (a dial type switch could be used like sum EHX pedals if wanted, theirs no difference)
or like you mentioned would work too, have three separate footswitches, inside it would basicy be the same as mentioned before, or it could be as simple as taking three circuit boards and rehousing them into one box.
April 22, 2010 at 7:41 am #91843diegoartsMemberHi, i’m glad there are more people who like the idea!
easiest would be a toggle switch i think. you may not need to change the character of the boost in the same song maybe. this way you could use the small XO enclosure. of course – foot-switchable change would be great, but this way you’d need the medium sized XO at least.
so, now we only need the guys at EHX to build it!
cheers

April 22, 2010 at 10:33 pm #90841BlueSteelParticipanti think three separate switches would be easier and can give you more possibilities. like if you wanted a bass boost and a volume boost, you could do it. or a treble and volume boost, you’d be able to do it.
April 23, 2010 at 12:08 am #90801Mr.GrimMemberi do think this all sounds like a great idea, and i would buy one because it says Electro Harminix on it, but i doubt it would get used much on my pedal board, because i do own all 3 boosters, but there never near each other on my board, there all needed seperatly for different reasons in different places.
