So, yesterday I picked up a Cathedral Reverb. Great pedal, nice verb… but whenever I use my Powerall with it I get a nasty high pitch hum added to my signal. The hum goes away when I use the supplied adapter, but that kind of negates the purpose of having a daisychain unit like the Powerall.
Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone have any suggestions, or a fix [besides the obvious – using it’s own adapter]?
Thanks!
Have you tried powering the Cathedral by itself with the Powerall to see if the hum goes away?
Not yet, but I will, and I’ll post my findings.
So, I tried using the Powerall with just the Cathedral – No hum.
However, if I introduce another pedal [any pedal] to the chain the noisy hum comes back.
Any thoughts? Anyone?
No idea. What other pedals are you using?
i assume its because your mixing digital pedals with analog ones, newer digital pedals dont like that and make issues as you mentioned. although i have used my SMMWH with a chain and had no issues.
My pedal board is: Ernie Ball VP > EHX Signal Pad > Boss CS3 > EHX NY Big Muff > EHX English Muffin’ > EHX Memory Toy > EHX Cathedral.
I think this is my first digital pedal, so Mr. Grim’s explanation would make sense. Has anyone else noticed this issue with mixing digital and analog pedals on the same chain?
