Hi everyone. I picked up a Ram’s Head Big Muff around xmas time and have been in love with the sound. However, the other day I clicked it on and found that it had very little sustain. The notes ring briefly and then crackle away. I tried changing the power source and then reverting to batteries, different cables, guitars, etc… The problem definitely seems to be in the pedal. Does anyone have suggestions on where to start with fixing this?

The sound is like when a typical distortion pedal is running on an almost-dead battery. A real short, farty sound. Chords sustain a little longer than single notes but it’s still not like it used to be.
