I just bought a second-hand Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai and noticed that when I try to dial in the psuedo-ring modulator sounds that many rave about in reverse mode (as on the ProGuitarsop.com YouTube demo), the volume drops significantly within that range of the delay time knob.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Is there a fix?
Is my unit faulty? it seems fine otherwise…
I haven’t seen the ProGuitarShop demo, but I get a ring mod type sound in ‘Reverse Echo’ Mode with BLEND – max, DECAY – 12 O’Clock, REPEATS – 12 O’Clock, DELAY – minimum.
You get a serious volume drop though. Are these the settings you are using?
Yeah same settings I use… just no sound in the first quarter of the delay time knob, yep, messedwith the blend too, but only get dry, the wet is only there above 9:00 on the delay time knob where is sounds like a warble… I was looking forward to some bonus ring mod action
the ring mod on the SMMH isn’t that great. It’s kind of neat, but as far as ring mod sounds go, it’s pretty meh.
Yeah… I’m thinking I might just get a ring mod anyway. Can’t afford to spend loads, so maybe a second-hand freq analyzer or a co-pilot android… or maybe I’ll go the DIY route, I have a couple of schematics lying about.
Meh, nevermind… I’ll just use my delay for delays
thanks for your input guys, cheers
i must say this ring setting option was news to me, and i tried it out and sure enough, its there and kinda neat. but i as well do get a volume drop , same as when i use the looper, but when used as just a delay pedal, there is no drop.
