I just bought a 1979 Electric Mistress on E-bay. It has EH 5100 D circuit, and I think there maybe some parts replaced in it. I’m new to these pedals and I might be wrong but I can see some solder joints on the board where one of the chips is sitting that look touched up, and that particular chip is sitting on a white plastic base instead of being directly soldered to the board. Can someone please post the pix of the EH 5100 D circuit board that is 100% original? I would like to compare mine to an original one. I try to put a picture of mine up here soon. Also there is a significant volume drop when I turn the pedal on, is that normal? Thanks a lot for your help.
Sockets are usually used for ICs that may need to be replaced in the future. In your case, the socket is likely under the SAD1024. That’s normal. It also may have been added during a repair. I often do the same thing when I repair any pedal.
The volume drop is normal.
