Hello! I just tried my old Big Muff, last time i had it connected must have been five years ago..Back then it worked perfectly, now it just oscillates and you can tune the frequency with the knobs. Battery is brand new. In off-mode it works but you can hear the oscillation in the background. Where can the problem be? Dried capacitors?
Replacing the electrolytics in something that old wouldn’t hurt, especially if its been sitting unused for a while they can dry out. I’ve revived a few old muffs that way … it’ll take you 10 min and cost you a dollar. I’d give it a go.
