Hi, I would appreciate some assistance with a vintage DMM. I have an older blue DMM that I just recently had Howard Davis service for me. I was playing a wedding gig tonight when the DMM began acting up by crackling loudly. I assumed it was a cable issue only to find it not making any sound at all when switching cables. The unit does turn on, but not a sound. Out of curiosity, I opened up the unit to discover a white wire from the imput jack with a cap (or resistor) with loose solder on the end not connecting to anything. If anyone can assist me with explaining where this cable connects so I can re-solder it, I would appreciate it. I am assuming that I must dislodged this wire somehow when fiddling with different cables. Here are some pics of the unit:
Can any owner of a blue DMM open theirs up so I can can see where this connects?
You’re in luck. I had a pic of it in my flickr from an old eBay sale.

Thanks!
Right click on it and open it in a new page.

Could you post a pic of the upper right corner of the board?
Here are a few more pics I had taken, sorry for my lack of photography skills.
I’m pretty sure the loose wire should be soldered where marked in the pic:

+1. That’s where it is on mine but I don’t have the inline resistor.
All fixed! You guys are great! Thank you again!
