I have two questions:
1. I wanted to put a new boss style power jack into my bassballs. I put it in and wired it up the same way that the other jack was wired– and now it doesn’t work. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?
2. While I was doing this, I accidently disconnected the end of the LED that is not attached to the pedal switch. I’m not sure where it goes. I tried connecting it to the power jack and that blew the LED as there wasn’t a resistor attached. I’m guessing that it should go somewhere on the PCB, I just can’t see where. Any help would be appreciated.
Didn’t you post this at DIYstompboxes? I replied there to swap the red wire from the battery and the power wire going to the effect board.
Not sure exactly where the LED wire goes but there should be a resistor that goes to nowhere but a pad. Likely a 1.5K.
Thanks man. I forgot to enable the email notification over at DIYStomboxes and didn’t think that anyone had responded.
As for the LED then, I should just look for a resistor that goes nowhere?
In the meantime, I already rigged up the LED with a resistor. Is there any harm in just connecting that to the jack as you would for a normal true bypass wiring job?
That’ll work fine.
Thank you. I’ll try and redo things tonight… hopefully this will solve everything. Thanks!
