I noticed that there’s a significant volume drop when engaging the #1echo delay ON, is this an inherent feature of the pedal?
how can one fix this?
thanks!

October 21, 2009 at 8:15 pm #102510electro-melxModeratorHow bad is the drop? without hearing it it’s kinda hard to know if there’s a problem or not…..does the the drop increase as you turn the blend knob or is it a constant level… also are you using the supplied PSU?

the drop is somewhat addressable by the blend knob, however since the blend knob works in a way that adjusts both original signal and delayed signal, it comes to a point that i’m not hearing the delayed signal anymore.
unfornately i think i’m already the 3rd owner of this pedal and i got it without the original PSU.

Digital delays are pretty power hungry, what’s the spec of the power supply you are using?

October 24, 2009 at 12:23 pm #102641baconmpanadaParticipanti tried with a 500ma supply as well and the volume drop is the same

October 27, 2009 at 8:37 pm #102737aldebaran6ParticipantIm not sure but i think is a normal issue in this pedal, a friend of mine have the same pedal and he loves the sound, but he never uses the pedal in gigs because of the volume drop , he only use his pedal in studio work

i checked the review done here and it mentions the volume drop as well:

is there any solution to this?

November 4, 2009 at 9:53 am #103317ZenJengaMemberYea, I have the same problem with mine. It’s the blend knob. It not only blends the signal, but affects the output as well. Blend all the way down and there’s no drop, starting blending in and the volume of the dry signal drops… blend on max and the delay signal is nice and loud, however of course no dry signal.
I have worked out ways to get around it, as in only using that particular delay for certain things. LPB1 helps with these sort of problems… I use it with my Small Stone to help with the volume drop, I’m assuming it would do the same for the delay, but I haven’t tried it.November 14, 2009 at 3:39 pm #103736PhilsenLasVegasMemberI have just bought a #1 Echo. I think the volume drop is generic as mine suffers from it too. I’m not particularly bothered about it because I only bought it for writing and home practice. I use a Deluxe Memory Man for live. I’d use a clean booster though if it was my live delay.
