i was wondering the value of the 1976 V3 Big Muff with the 3003 board and BC239C’s? no “AC” painted on it. it is modded for true bypass with a Carling switch. has the normal scratches and wear. works perfectly. i was just thinking of selling it and wanted to know a fair asking price.
That is essentially a Ram’s Head Muff. Early V3 Muffs with no AC printed had the exact same circuit. They bring around $400 in decent condition on ebay.
OTOH, I got mine last year for $150…and a 3034 with a bad switch (one squirt of deoxit later and it’s fine).
Bargains can be had if you’re patient.
If you paid $150, you got a deal. I try not to go above $250, and if you wait long enough, you will find them on ebay for that or less. I have seen Ram’s Heads sell for over $600 on ebay. There are some nuts who want one really bad to pay that much.
i sold it the other day for $215. it was no collector’s piece. it had the typical wear from 33 years of use and was modded to true bypass. it was a fair deal all around. i got what i needed for it and the guy didnt spend a fortune on it either.
