I can get the PP2 for $150ish while the BBE is around $90
I know that folks on most gear forums swear by the VoodooLab unit, but is it really $60 better?
Pedal Power 2+:
Why?
1. It can power everything the BBE can
2. it has a courtesy outlet in case you have a pedal it can’t power
3. The 5 and 6 outlets have 50ma more each (which can be the difference between adequately powering and not adequately powering some digital pedals)
4. 7 and 8 outputs on the PP2+ have dying battery simulators- a nice added feature.
I guess I just need to decide if two channels with 50ma more power is worth it.
The extra outlet is really nice too.
I don’t think I would use the dead battery sim, and I’m on the fence about if $60 is worth the couple extra features.
What are some popular pedals to use the sag feature on?
What pedals need 250ma?
My HOG needs 250ma. I think my SMMH might need it too.
I don’t really use the SAG feature, but it’s supposed to work great on fuzz face and tone bender type fuzzes.
The courtesy outlet is not to be forgotten. If you’ve got any of the old EH 40v pedals, or an AC pedal, that comes in handy.
I’m gonna go with the Voodoo Lab.
Thanks for the advice.
