I had the EH Big HOG, which I got of eBay and was missing so many accessories (like the correct power wall-wart- nice, buddy) that I kindly gave the sleaze a neutral even though he had a no return policy. In short, it was too much. But as a bass player (and synths) I thought the POG was incredible! But money issues reared their ugly heads. I lucked out and got at Zzounds a Micro Pog brand new (a return) for $144.
The 3 stop organ sound is a must for me and I don’t have any problem hunting around for the units listed: nano small stone, XO Clone Theory, Polyphase and Stereo Pulsar. I’m well versed enough in EH pedals to know that these are not all the same in any way.
Can I get suggestions on which unit would satisfy the sound as found on the big POG for guitar and bass?
Thanks in advance!
The POG2.
Thanks Ron, but I’d like to keep my micro POG and use one of the four pedals listed. Which do you recommend? Or was that your way of saying that none of themdo the job I’m looking for?
The Polyphase (or any phase shifter) will be your best bet for big organ-y sounds.
Many thanks.
I’ve been playing bass and keys for 32 years and every time I start to take a deep interest in effects (or, even worse, engineering and recording) I end up making a mess of things, burning manuals, punching holes in walls, etc.
