Anyone else think the Tone Wicker Big Muff is noisy?
I have a bunch of Muff variants and I’m surprised the newer they get the noisier they get.I would expect it to be the other way round with ageing components.
I have a 73 ram’s head and it’s great, nice ‘n’ quiet, a v3 3003 board which also fine. My v4 IC muff isn’t bad, my v6 3034 is noisy and my new Tone Wicker is as noisy. Quite a high white noise floor even without a signal. Is my TW faulty or are they all like this?

That limits what you can play though. No space, no gaps. Unless you’re going full on all the time, it’s too noisy. Play something, let a note tail off and BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZWOOOOOOOSHBUZZZZZZZZZZ kinda kills it.
Think I’ll ditch mine…Shame, it does sound pretty good otherwise.

Dont use the wicker, just use it as a NYC.

It’d be cool with a gate in it, like the old Jen Jumbo.
