Sure, he’s not a singer, but it seemed to me he did a good job looking at several of the Voice Box’s features (whereas most other Voice Box videos I’ve seen have focused on one or two).

Scott, I agree. It’s a Voice Box Demo and it shows the features of the Voice Box really well. A demo is not always a spot-on performance just as a performance is not always a spot-on demo.
April 28, 2009 at 4:01 pm #96133mhuxtableMemberyes he featured some settings…the audio quality was subpar…you’re right, he’s NOT a singer (would you use a non guitar player to demo a guitar pedal?)…a lot of the notes are flat or pitchy, therefore making the harmonies sound bad. i just figure, if you are going to demo a pedal (that jack conte has demoed TWICE and did an incredible job) that you would make sure you can fully use it, and this pedal requires a good voice to start with.
for instance, i would NEVER demo a pedal like a big muff or graphic fuzz to show the nice sustain and harmonix because i don’t solo & shred…i would not be able to make the pedal sound good or use it to its full potential…and most importantly, i would not be able to convince someone to buy the thing.
the jack conte videos make me want to buy the voice box, that video did not.

April 28, 2009 at 4:25 pm #96135smilindanMemberI thought it was fine, what a cool pedal. I won’t defend his use of 4 Non Blondes in his video (no-one could, that’s like throwing some “Lady In Red” into a demo), but I think it did show the uses of the pedal as intended.
