so after 4 or 5 months of solid gallery-prep work thats engulfed any and all of my free time, i finally have the sort of schedule where i can spend entire days noodling with things like this. so im doing what ive basically been dreaming about for months. im trying to figure out how to rig all this stuff up at once to my roland kit (the product of 6 months of regrettable apartment living), and ive been poking at it most of the day on and off, but i think im getting there… now i have to rig it up so its recordable for both audio and video. so, the plan is to briefly run over all these crazy old units, and then launch an all out noise assault on your faces.

    so. check back?

edit: apparently those photos dont quite fit, so right click and view-as em.

    Indeed :thumb: That is beautiful!

I’m on my way toward a similar thing, but not nearly as elaborate.

    At the moment I’ve got:
    1. Instant Replay and Trigger Pad
    2. Crash Pad
    3. Sonic Boomer
    4. Mini Mixer

    Eventually I’d love to have:
    1. Clap Track
    2. Rolling Thunder
    3. Super Replay

The Space Drum is pretty cool, but I found that if you set the trimpot in the Crash Pad high enough, you can get the Space Drum tone without compromising the intended tones of the Crash Pad. I would probably only pick up the Space Drum to be a completist, which I don’t have the $ to be

also, the space drum is pretty excellent. you can get those kind of tones with the crash pad, but its MUCH harsher.

Do you prefer the deluxe version, or the BMP-sized version?
I can’t believe how the prices on these things have skyrocketed in the last year.

I’m not exactly convinced yet that I love the Sonic Boomer. It’s my least favorite of the drums I’ve heard. I send it through my Octave Multiplexer to get my kick sound. It works well that way, but by itself it’s pretty meh.

i defiantly prefer the deluxe. you can get a little more grit into it. plus the sensitivity knob lets you adjust it to get a little more ‘workable’ with it. the deluxe is currently hooked up to that roland cymbal there and a light tap is a ping! up to a strong hit which is the whole pIOOOOOOOOIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! while the space drum is pretty much a set sound regardless of the input signal. but im still trying different pads out, maybe i can figure something better.

WOW! Now that looks like almost too much fun in one place. I would never leave the house! :D
