Its an SKB pedal board I only bought it because it has rack equipment space for my amp, its powered, it was a steal of a deal and at a glance I could tell that I couldn’t break it if I tried. I’m still totally EH brand name loyal but I saw one of you gig bags. You should stop making gig bags for pedals. I’ll just leave it at that.

Those SKB cases are everything-proof though.
Be proud that your EH pedals aren’t gonna get busted by anyone ever again.
(R.I.P. my first Holy Grail, which had a terrible collision with our drummer and a pint of Guiness.)March 8, 2009 at 8:38 am #94274julianModeratorYou should make this thread into a suggestion for an EHX pedalboard
March 8, 2009 at 9:34 am #94279Dr. MattModeratorI’ve always been a bit skeptical about the pedal bag too. I’m not really sure if it’s necessary for EHX to make a boss-style pedal board either, though, but it’s very difficult to explain my reasoning, other than that EHX make a vast array of pedals in different shapes and sizes which would make it difficult to market a board like that.
March 12, 2009 at 9:36 am #94421Mike VDMemberThe Boss boards have too many cheap plastic parts that just scream garage band. The only Boss pedal I would be caught using is one of their chromatic tuners with a Peterson tuning contact mic. SKB shit box doesn’t exclude any shapes. Now that I think about EH doesn’t make a tuner. An invention came to mind just now. A rechargeable flashing LED metronome that shocks you if you’re off sync. Like a dog collar so that you’re band geeks learn to keep time and it doubles as a wrist watch as well so that they show up to band practice on time.

Boss have made loads of great pedals (and other things) over the years…March 13, 2009 at 5:33 am #94445John JMemberWrist watch might not be a bad idea, “Sorry I’m late for band practice” is one of my most-uttered phrases these days.
The obvious downside being…

It has been tossed and kicked around and dropped a few times. The board withstood all the abuse, not to mention the pedals inside. It holds 7-8 pedals easy and is very neat, in that you can hide all the wires for the adapter.

Don’t think you are a traitor for not buying something ehx.
Boss has made a few good pedals over the years. Like the DS-1, it was the first pedal i ever got and i would never sell it because it has such a great sound ( of course not as great compared to my big muff pi )
March 14, 2009 at 2:42 am #94477Mike VDMemberNo offense to the Boss/Roland fans but Electro Harmonix is stupid badass. I’ve gone with out so that I could have premium effects like Electro Harmonix. I never missed meals or was late on rent because I found a Boss Product that I absolutely had to have. In my opinion Boss/Roland makes the best chromatic tuners. Boss used to make the PS-3 which in my opinion is their best effect they have but I’d rather have a HolyStain any day. The only DOD pedal you would catch me using is a FX-25b. Any one got a beef with that? I’m as serious as cancer. If there was such as thing I would blow my tax return right now for a decent EH pedal board.

for the record, i don’t think anyone would say that Boss make the best chromatic tuners either.
i like EHX as much as anyone on this forum (i wouldn’t be here otherwise) but i’m not so blinkered to elevate them above every other brand… there are lot’s of EHX products i don’t like. if i were to list my 5 favourite pedals then 5 different brands would be represented.
and what’s wrong with DOD?
they have produced a lot of great pedals in the past; lots of them being quirky/unusual/innovative – very much in a similar vein to EHX designs… there’s not a lot out there which is similar to the Punkifier, Vibrothang etcMarch 17, 2009 at 2:19 am #94583Fender&EHX4everModeratorI agree that the BOSS PS-3 is the best compact pedal they ever made. Very innovative, and unique in the world of compact stompboxes. Before I became obsessed with EHX, I had an all BOSS board. The first 5 of these I still own:
TU-2 Tuner
LS-2 Line Selector
PS-3 Digital Delay/ Pitch Shifter
PN-2 Tremelo/ Pan
GE-7 Graphic Equalizer
CS-3 Comp/Sust
CE-3 Stereo Chorus
AW-2 Auto Wah
OC-3 Super Octave
HM-2 Heavy Metal
RV-3 Digital Delay/ ReverbI still think the RV-3 is a cool pedal, even though I sold it off.
My complaint with BOSS is that they tend to play it too safe and middle of the road – with the exception of the PS-3, PN-2, and the LS-2. What I love about EHX is that they often take things over-the-top into experimental territory. Like the Flanger Hoax, the HOG, the Tube Zipper, the Holiest Grail, the Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai – these boxes push the envelope.
March 17, 2009 at 6:46 pm #94599st.bedeMemberI really like the RE-20 but, I really try to keep my chain analogue
March 17, 2009 at 8:38 pm #94604BlueSteelParticipantI have a boss ds-1 and i’ve tried out some others. they were good, but like fender&ehx4ever;said, they never made anything crazy, thats why i like ehx better.
