I found a cool pedal that im trying to make and i’m not sure if i should use 1/2 watt or 1/4 watt resistors.
heres the link:

also, it has two diodes on the little diagram thing and only one in the parts list.
Thanks in advance
1/ 4watt are common stompbox size. 1 watt are huge,
As for the diodes, use the same two kinds.
ok cool
i actually think that they made a mistake and put in “D2” because if you click on the bottom to the finished one, theres a picture of the inside and there is nothing in the place where it says in the diagram to have a diode so i’ll just not put one in there. also it doesnt say anything about it on the actual schematic.
As for the diodes, use the same two kinds.
so it really wouldnt matter if i used the 1/4 watt instead the 1/2 watt. would it make any difference to the sound at all or would it be the same?
No it will be the same but you should use 1/4 watt.
1/4 has a bit less noise, but it’s barely noticeable in simple circuits as most pedals. It will fit highly-populated PCBs with a bit more room, but are indeed a bit harder to work with.
I only use 1/4-watters.
Sorry i said you should use 1/2 watt, I was meant to say use 1/4 watt. sorry for the confusion.
the tiny ones are 1/8 watt:

mmmkay, thanks guys, i’ll use the 1/4 watt ones.
and i’ve figured out that the “D2” is for the LED.
