so i picked one of these up on a whim. it doesnt seem to so much be a “bass booster”, like an EQ pedal with the low end knobs pushed up, as it seems to operate like i was turning a two way tone knob (bass to treble style) more towards the bass side, as i turn the knob up. sure theres more bass, but theres ALOT less treble. dissapears.

this is sort of disappointing, as i bought this to further my approach of kicking on and off a stronger low end instead of kicking on and off overdrive to add dynamics with my band while playing my fender baritone.

Well, you’ll just have to give to me then, I guess. I have been curious about these myself. It would be cool to add to a collection, but some of these old and “rare” pedals are few and far between for good reason I suppose.

ill keep it in the collection, i just hoped it would work differently than it does. it just seems silly that a pedal called the “bass booster” wouldnt simply boost the bass, and instead COMPLETELY tonally change the signal. its almost like a pickup selector switch well after the guitar..

Think of it as a “Gibson EB0-in-a-box”.

    hi everyone

i’ve been interested in the hog’s foot/mole for a while but what i’m looking for is a simple ‘real’ bass booster, meaning one that doesn’t affect high frequencies, but all i could find is something like the Xotic boosters, with gain, bass, treble and volume controls… and they are really expensive too!

what i wanted to know is: could i run the mole/hog’s foot in parallel with the clean uneffected signal (with an AB box-ish of some kind), and mix them 2 so that i can have a bass boost and unity gain on higher frequencies, or this kind of setting won’t work (because of phase shifting introduced by the filter, or other reasons)?

    thanks
