Hey there great people of all-mighty EHX !
Here is a bit of a challenge for you !
What about a “Kaos Pad” that we can use DIRECTLY IN our pedal chain ???
One that does NOT require “extra/special” cables, just a good old 1/4 jack “IN” & “OUT” !
So that it could read something like this :
Guitar ->Whammy4 ->Fuzz ->Over Drive ->Trem ->EHX “KAOS PAD” ->DMM ->AMP
Can i expect these on the shelves in time for my 2009 X-Mass shopping ?
You guys can even run a world wide comp. for the best name for such a wonderfull device !
Something like, the “CRAZY WINDOW”, or “PSYCHO BOX”Disclaimer : …when i say ‘Kaos Pad’, i mean an EHX unit very simmilar to the Korg Kaos Pad, just MUCH MUCH better and wayyy more powerfull in its functions, but for the same price !
Thanx Guys
December 20, 2008 at 12:24 am #89237CostchParticipantThat sounds like a really cool idea, but wouldn’t it be kind of hard to control a touch screen with your foot? And you might even break the screen.
December 20, 2008 at 12:41 am #89239SirJackdeFuzzMemberNot if you place the EHX Kaoss Pad on a “riser” like the one you get for a Line6 pod !
You can then adjust the hight, so that it is very close to your strumming hand !December 20, 2008 at 12:49 am #89240CostchParticipantOh, now I see what you’re saying. I just don’t see EHX making something as high tech as that though. Who knows, it could hapen. Is the Korg even compatible with guitar?
December 20, 2008 at 12:55 am #89241SirJackdeFuzzMemberJust youtube, “kaoss pad with guitar” . . .
December 20, 2008 at 1:10 am #89242McHavenModeratorI don’t see EHX being able to do this…something about a likely lawsuit I would think.

December 20, 2008 at 6:22 am #89261julianModeratorKorg aren’t the only ones to use a touch screen interface as a control device
Moog Voyagers have touch screens that you can use to control in the same way as a Kaoss PadDecember 20, 2008 at 8:00 am #89274SirJackdeFuzzMemberHey McHaven . . .
. . . why a lawsuit ?
Many Co’s have used the same idea to make smething simmilar, and even better sometimes !
Did Henry Ford sue every other American car Co. in the 1920’s ?
Did Gibson sue Leo Fender when he took a piece of wood and added strings and pick ups ?
Did osram using light buld Co A, sue light bulb Co. B for inventing the “Energy Saving Bulb” ? Same thing – it makes light, but in a better, more cost effective way !EHX too can make something simmilar – just better !

I’m just thinking outloud. Don’t ever take my word as something to actually be trusted lol. I just kind of say things.
December 20, 2008 at 10:24 am #89285SirJackdeFuzzMember^^^ understood ! ^^^
December 21, 2008 at 6:13 am #89349kevinMemberOr maybe something a bit simpler that can be controlled with one’s foot a la z.vex probe pedals.
December 21, 2008 at 6:21 am #89352julianModeratorI said it in another thread: the EHX mod wheel.
trem, resonant filter, vibrato- square/sine LFO. Dual axis expression pedal- one axis controls depth, one controls speed.
December 21, 2008 at 7:36 am #89358John JMemberJulian – It was genius then and it’s genius now. Actually, I just picked up the Korg DS synthesizer and it’s making me yearn for a kaoss pad of my own. I hate using my hands for anything besides playing or adjusting volume knobs, but a dual axis expression pedal would be the tops.
December 21, 2008 at 10:34 am #89363electro-melxModeratorwhat about a ball like on those old arcade machines? ….you know, like an upside down mouse?
that would be easy to move with your foot.
